There was a time when I used to hate politics and believed that only clowns run this business … until my father started discussing it with me in an interesting story-telling manner. Since then I have developed a liking for observing the local and global political scenarios. This perhaps is the reason I am always looking for different perspectives because they always teach me a thing or two. Needless to say every time I come across “one gem of an article”. This time around, it is Pushing mediocrity or promoting innovation?
The internet is a world of magic… you think of something and get it easily by doing a little search. The other day i was craving something sweet yet savory, tasty yet guilt-free and something that i haven’t tried before when a page by the name of L’amour Jams and Spreads appeared on my timeline. The page boasted of being a provider of Organic and Vegan products. still skeptical, i decided to give it a shot because i had to start from somewhere 😀
If you ask me, milk is the most underrated commodity. There was a time when no advertisements were done to captivate the attention of customers. However, with the passage of time, brands realized the potential in this segment and began marketing their milk as the most important commodity in a man’s life. Though everyone recognized this fact already in their subconscious mind, banded milk advertisements made loud and clear statements to reinstate the fact strongly. Having said that, each brand came up with their own USP to attract consumers.
Among all this, Nurpur positioned itself as a brand that it true to its “promise” of providing pure milk to the customers. And trust me, never did once they do mention it in their TVC. In fact, the TVC uses an undertone to communicate the message. There are no dialogues involved and the soothing music takes you back to imagining your own family life. To create an emotional connection, there are two cute children who are helping their mom in the kitchen. Sounds familiar, eh? Yes, because admit it or not, we all have tried doing it at some point in our lives. It shows a traditional morning routine of a happy family who is enjoying the most important meal of the day i.e. breakfast. The close up shots of food, tempting sights and whiteness of the milk that is highlighted again and again is a reminder of how pure is their main band attribute.
This is not the first time Nurpur has come up with such an aesthetically pleasant TVC that resonates in our minds. I clearly remember how I used to wait for their brilliant TVC right before Sehri time last Ramzan. I think that was the first ad after the rebranding and repositioning of the brand. I am glad the brand has not lost the tack and is still keeping its uniqueness intact with this new TVC. Definitely looking forward to what they have to offer next!

Milk and mornings have always been boring for me. Why you ask? Because what’s the charm in it? For a change, I decided to experiment with different breakfast ideas to keep myself entertained and energized throughout the day since breakfast is considered to be the most important meal of the day.
So, recently I started noticing that make up build up is spoiling my face (not that I am a model already :p) but seeing traces of lipstick and foundation on the sponge everytime I sat to cleanse my face wasn’t a good sight.
I asked around some fellow bloggers and did my research too. Finally agreeing on trying the Bioderma Sensibio H2O. As soon as I came from work, the first thing I wanted to do was to wash face, because of the make-up. But isn’t this what I do always and it never pays off! Continue reading
Each day we see a number of sponsored or paid content on our timelines, thanks to influencer marketing. However, not all the hashtags make us click on them and follow the content.
One such interesting campaign that recently caught my attention belongs to National Food Limited. While I was reading stories on #NotAFailure, I came across this TVC on my Twitter.
If you’re searching for a good Pakistani movie to watch then here are 3 movies you should keep an eye out for because they seem really interesting and will surely knock your socks off!
Makeup is something most girls can’t resist to. This perhaps is the reason, I ran to Lucky One Mall when I heard there is a bloggers meet that is happening at Make-up City. Matlab, it is like going to heaven :p
Pakistan is progressing and so is Karachi. After hearing a lot about the recently opened Lucky One Mall, I decided to visit it with my sister and her chulbulay bachay. Though the mall is still taking its time to be fully functional, I am happy I went there.
Here is a list of things you should expect when visiting the mall Continue reading
They say, “Health is Wealth”. Rightly so because unless you are not healthy, you won’t be able to enjoy anything in life. This is what I recently realized when an invite to attend Avari Towers Karachi’s OSG landed in my mail. Excited to see what lies within, I decided to pay them a visit. Continue reading
On 19th April the area around the Expo Centre was glittering, later I came to know it was because of the whole glitterati of the Pakistan aka Pakistan Fashion and Film Industry, which was assembled for the Lux Style Awards of 2017. Many people commented that it was an evening of many firsts; Atif Aslam hosted the show for the first time since it started in 2002, Noman Ijaz attended the awards for the first time and most importantly the event packed up around midnight!
Also dubbed as Pakistani Oscars, LSA is the most important and prestigious award show for the Pakistani film and fashion fraternity. This year the show was directed by fashion icon Hasan Shahryar Yasin (HSY). Red Carpet commenced around 5 pm and was full of glam and glitz the film fraternity is famous for. Continue reading
I was watching my favorite TV drama with my one year on my lap when during a commercial, break something caught my attention, that was the new Rooh Afza ad. It got me hooked to the screen till the last second of the commercial because the story of father and daughter shown in the TVC is so compelling and relatable for me. It left me speechless and I started wondering if this is the same company that talked about the same product usage in their ad for decades. Indeed a new and fresh approach.
There are very few people who get excited when it comes to books. Though I am not a book worm or someone who has a treasure of shelves filled with books, thanks to online reads, I make sure I attend literature festivals to keep myself updated with the latest additions in this arena. This time around, my father, whose favorite genre is politics, was also in town so I decided to visit the then upcoming Karachi Literature Festival 2017.
Last week I happened to go to a Bloggers’ Meet up which was about the launch of a new app called ‘Tapmad’. For which, I had to miss out on my favorite drama and on my way I couldn’t help but thinking about catching up the episode on YouTube later that night. Little did I know at that point that I am going to get a permanent solution to watching TV while on the go!
If you ask me, I am one of the most unsatisfied smartphone customers (blame my excess usage of social media apps and online reading habit for it). Anyways, so, ever since I have been deprived of my Samasung Galaxy S3 on gun point, a.k.a mobile snatching, my life has been terribly miserable. I couldn’t find a single smartphone that can work effectively without getting hung or confused at what I am commanding them. LOL.
Jokes apart, one day when my Huawei P8 Lite completely refused to start and did not cooperate, I was forced to search about the best phones I can get in the most reasonable price. Though some of these brands are available locally through black market, I usually prefer going for brands that are officially available in Pakistan.
Cutting the long story short, out of four best phones that I came across, two of them aren’t available in Pakistan yet. Sigh and sobs!
How I wish these brands were available in this part of the world as well (I hope so they will think about it soon)
It was the first brand that popped up in my search bar, so I will definitely start with it. Headquartered in China, Xiaomi is determined to introduce the high quality latest technology in an affordable rate. They are already present in Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, India, Brazil and Indonesia. I hope they further expand their market to Pakistan. So far, their most loved brands by consumers are
Xiaomi Mi Mix
It is the latest addition in Xiaomi’s family. The most futuristic phone with 91.3% screen to body ratio. The almost no-edges design wasn’t easy to develop and required a lot of work in other areas too. Apart from great design, Xiaomi Mi Mix offers 6 GB RAM, 16 MP rear camera, 256 GB storage and a battery of 4400 mAh.
Other notable devices by Xiaomi are:
· Xiami Mi 5
· Xiaomi Mi 4i
· Xiaomi Redmi Note
· Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G
· Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime.
In 2012, five entrepreneurs decided to open up a small startup that has now grown up to become a full-fledged organization. iDroid USA aims to become the market leader with its cutting edge technology and this mission is the reason they are relying on extremely sophisticated and advanced research methodologies.
iDroid Royal V7
This phone is just perfect for anyone who is looking for a good camera. Its 13 MP rear and 5 MP front cameras are ideal for HD pictures and shoots. V7 is actually a Phablet with 540×960 pixel resolution. With 1 GB RAM and 8 GB ROM, which is comparatively a bit less than other vendors, this phone offers a decent design, which is unlikely to be found in other counterparts. Instead of round edges, V7 has rectangular corners to give you a premium feel.
Other phones of iDroid that I look forward to are:
· iDroid Apache G6
· Tango 2 White
· iDroid BALR X7
· Tango A5
Apart from these, I would really like to see Amazon phones making their way in the Pakistani market. However, I think these two brands will probably be successful in making me forget my previous phone by staying with me through thick and thin. RIP Samsung Galaxy S3!
Smartphones have given rise to a whole new level of a digital world we live in. Be it shopping from your favorite brands, interacting with your distant friends/relatives or opting for an online service to get your work done, we have become totally dependent on our smartphones. Continue reading
If you have lived in Turkey or enjoyed their traditional food in the Middle East before, you will definitely know my struggle to find the similar authentic Turkish taste in Pakistan. So, after I was disappointed in finding the best Hummus in Karachi that tasted exactly like the one they have in the Middle East, a friend referred me to the ongoing Turkish Food Festival at Avari Towers. Intrigued by the name only, I decided to give it a try because among all the high end hotels I know; only Avari Towers is well-known for celebrating food festivals from different regions where they do not compromise on the taste and quality. What are the most important ingredients to making a blockbuster movie? Strong story line, fun, entertainment and an impressive cast, right? What if I told you that Wrong No. has more or less all these staples? Yes, it has. However, like no film is an emblem of perfection, this too had some loopholes. Though, for me, these shortcomings have been overshadowed by the positive aspects easily. Continue reading

I have been using Jordana Black Out and Maybelline Master Drama for a while now. They are the best, however, I wanted a product that is easy on pocket and lasts not longer than 5-6 hours, at least, and there I came across with Olivia Kajal. Continue reading

Being a fan of suspense and thriller movies, I have always been into James-Bond-type movies. So, this November 6th, I happened to attend the Pakistan-wide premiere of James Bond’s 24th series, which was held at Ocean Mall, Karachi. The star-studded premiere was hosted by the dashing Hasan Ahmed and was attended by Sunita Marshal, Nadia Hussain, Humayun Saeed, Deepak Perwani, Zhalay Sarhadi and many other renowned socialites and, of course, bloggers.
